Yup. That pretty much sums it up. I love, love, love to run. Yes, I hit the wall. Yes, I have off days. Yes, I have had injuries and tweaks. Yes, I’ve had runs where the only good part was that I finished. But I finished. When we are faced with injury, illness, long work days, uncooperative weather, fatigue, travel, or just life in general it’s difficult to get those necessary runs in.
It is true that the hardest step is the one out the door. But once taken, no matter what’s going on at home, at work, in my marriage, with my kids or friends, finances – no matter what – it’s my time. My sanity, my decompression, my thinking and processing time.
In the end when I take that first step out the door, no matter what else is happening peripherally, it’s all about the run. It’s all about me. For that I am very, very thankful.

Oh, this is so very true!!! I am just getting mentally ready to head out to my second training today. Can’t wait for that great feeling and me time
Have a great weekend!
